U14 Boston Advantage Girls Fighting Crabs Travel to Nashville

This past weekend the U14 Boston Advantage Girls Fighting Crabs traveled to Nashville to play in the inaugural Nashville Country Classic. They participated in the U14 Blue division along with the Florida Alliance, Oshawa Lady Generals, Nashville Jr Predators, and the Chicago Fury. The Crabs started out with a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Fury on Friday morning.  That afternoon, they beat the Oshawa Lady Generals 6-5 in a shootout.

The Crabs were led by Wren Abboud with two goals and two assists in regulation. The shootout saw Emily Lavalle stop all six Lady Generals shooters, and Reese Pompeo ended the game by converting on a nice five hole goal. The Crabs went on to beat the Nashville Jr. Predators 4-2 on Saturday, with two goals scored by Reagan Waldner. On Sunday, the girls found themselves down 3-0 to the Florida Alliance very early in the game. They fought back hard to cut the Alliance’s lead to one, but ended up losing the game 3-2 despite a late push with the goalie pulled.

Congratulations to the Florida Alliance for taking home the U14 Blue division! Thank you to the NGHL and Nashville Jr Predators for hosting this great weekend of women’s hockey, which included the opportunity to watch Boston College, Harvard, Wisconsin & Minnesota Division 1 NCAA college games.  We look forward to participating again next year.
