U13 Valley Jr. Warrior Girls Capture State Title

Congratulations to the U13 Valley Jr Warrior Girls on winning the Massachusetts National Bound State Championship! 

The Valley Jr. Warriors U13's have been ranked as #1 U14 team in the country for 23 consecutive weeks. 

The U13 girl's shutout the Minuteman Flames in a dominate 7-0 win to start out the state tournament. They continued their dominance with a 6-0 win over the North Suburban Wings. On Saturday, the U13’s played the Massachusetts Spitfires, who they would meet again in the finals. The close back-and-forth battle could not be decided in regulation. The Jr. Warriors pulled away with a 1-0 win in the shootout.  The U13’s then cruised to an easy 9-0 win over the Islanders Hockey Club. In the semifinals, the Jr. Warriors defeated the Boston Jr. Eagles 4-1 to advance to the championship. The U13’s played the Massachusetts Spitfires in the championship game where they scored a goal in the second period and never looked back. The Jr. Warriors would score two more goals in the game winning 3-0 to capture the State Championship! 

The Jr. Warriors proved to be a top seed with lockdown goaltending from Ella Puleo allowing just one goal and recording 5 shutouts on their way to a 6-0 weekend. The U13 Jr. Warriors outscored their opponents 30-1. Forward Brooke Carlson and Defender Gabrielle Smith led the way in scoring for the Jr. Warriors. Carlson added 8 goals and 4 assists for 12 points and Smith added 5 goals and 5 assists for 10 points.  

Their State Championship victory earned them an automatic berth to the USA Hockey Nationals in Irvine, California. USA Hockey Nationals will take place from March 30th - April 3rd
