The inaugural season of Jr. Falcons hockey is officially underway, and the 2014 Elite team wasted no time making its mark.

Playing the first games of a historic first season for the program, the Jr. Falcons 2014 Elite team opened the year with a perfect 4-0 performance at the Boston Breakout, outscoring its opponents 17-4 over the course of the weekend.

The Falcons began their season with a statement, shutting out the CT Jr. Rangers 4-0 in their opening game. They carried that momentum into Saturday with a dominant 7-1 victory over the NW Chargers before picking up another win later that evening, defeating North Shore Academy 4-2.

One final challenge stood between the Falcons and an undefeated opening weekend.

Facing Boston Jr. Terriers on Sunday, the Falcons battled through their closest game of the tournament and came away with a 2-1 victory to officially complete a perfect 4-0 weekend. It was a fitting way to begin a new chapter for the Jr. Falcons.

As the program takes the ice for its inaugural season, the Boston Breakout represented the first opportunity for the Falcons to begin establishing their identity. The 2014 Elite group did exactly that, finding ways to win throughout the weekend while allowing just four goals across four games.

Their historic first season continues later this month when the 2014 Elite Falcons begin Elite 9 league play. They will open their E9 schedule on September 27 against the Valley Jr. Warriors at the Lawrence Valley Forum.
